Using a customizer on several stores

Link your other Shopify stores and push customizers to them, with each store keeping its own prices, variants and translations.

If you run more than one Shopify store, for example one in US dollars and one in euros, you can build a customizer once and push it to the others. This is part of the Pro and Plus plans, and both stores need one of them.

Link the stores

Install Moddify Studio on both stores. Then:

  1. In the first store, open Other stores and click Create link code.
  2. In the second store, open Other stores, enter the code and click Link store.

A code works once and expires after 24 hours, so only someone with access to both admins can link them. The link works both ways: either store can push to the other. Unlink ends it; customizers already pushed stay where they are.

Push a customizer

Under Push customizers, every customizer has a button per linked store. Pushing copies the current draft:

  • The first push creates a new draft in the other store, with the same layers, questions, steps and rules. Layer images are copied over too.
  • Later pushes update that same customizer. The table shows Up to date or Changed since with the date of the last push.

Nothing goes live in the other store until you publish it there. That gives you a chance to check prices before buyers see them.

What each store keeps

These stay as the receiving store set them, every time you push again:

  • Prices: the base price, answer prices, text and upload prices, and prices set by rules.
  • Shopify variants: the base variant and the parts variants on answers. On the first push these are left empty, because variants belong to each store's own products. Link them in the editor.
  • The product the customizer is on, the price rounding and the currency.
  • Translations into languages only that store has. If the source store adds German and the other store already has its own German, the source's text wins for that language.

Everything else (layers, questions, answers, steps, rules and their conditions) follows the store you push from. New answers arrive with the source store's price, so check them before publishing.
